Eastern Washington University is currently seeking a Washington state \u00a0licensed dentist to work with our Dental Hygiene Students in the Dental Hygiene program located in downtown Spokane. \u00a0These students are some of the best, so your expertise is needed. About our Clinic: Our clinic is an important resource for Greater Spokane community. \u00a0Our 46 chair state of the art clinic, located on the EWU Spokane campus provides an important learning experience while providing clinic services to a large population, approximately 80% Medicaid. \u00a0The clinic operates Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Our students provide radiographs, dental hygiene therapies, pain control with local anesthesia and nitrous oxide\/oxygen sedation as well as simple restorative procedures (not more than 4 surfaces). About our Students: The program is a 2 year semester based program where students earn a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene.\u00a0 They continually pass their clinical and national boards at a 100% pass rate. . Our program produces some of the best oral health care providers in the dental field who are sought after for employment across the state as well as throughout the Pacific Northwest. \u00a0 Clinical Dentist Credentials and Responsibilities: Must be licensed to practice dentistry in Washington State and be current in CPR and vaccinations. Desired qualifications: a willingness to have an impact on student success and to learn new teaching methodology at the same time. Some technology savviness is helpful. This opening is for a permanent, full-time position with a practice in Spokane, WA. Open to all experience levels including new grads, the position will serve primarily as a restorative hygienist doing mostly restore\/anesthetizing (in addition to some traditional hygiene). Restorative experience is a plus but not a requirement as the office is willing to train. However, you must have restorative license through Washington State (or be able to attain one). The schedule for the position is an alternating two-week cycle. Week One: Tuesday thru Saturday Week Two: Monday thru Friday On Monday, Wednesday, & Friday the hours are 8am-5pm. On Tuesday & Thursday the hours are 9am-6pm. The Saturday shift is 8am-3pm (**working every other Saturday is a must**). Also, there are 2 days per month required where the hours will be adjusted to 11am-8pm (so wanting to sleep in two days per month is a bonus). ***If you can work most but not all of these shifts you are still encouraged to apply*** The practice itself is part of a smaller, regional dental organization that provides the perks of being part of a larger organization without losing the personal touch of the traditional private practice.
